Jenny Valentish is a Castlemaine-based author, journalist and teacher, specialising in memoir and creative non-fiction. She is the author of the Walkley-nominated Woman of Substances: A Journey into Addiction and Treatment, which used her own story to answer vital questions about the nature of addiction and the relevance of gender, and Everything Harder Than Everyone Else: Why Some of Us Push Our Bodies to Extremes, in which her own quest to fight in the ring ran parallel to the narratives of those she interviewed. Her next book, Does Not Play Well With Others, blends memoir with game plans for introverts.
