Veisinia Tonga is a Tongan Kakala artist and a Multidisciplinary Storyteller. Her art practice with Kakala (plant material) uses the traditional floral practices of Tonga/Pasifika, where meaning is drawn from the material used and mana is infused into the creations through the maker’s intentions. She is a co-founder of Pasifika Storytellers Collective. She takes her responsibility as a future knowledge holder earnestly and actively seeks understanding by sitting at the feet of her cultural elders. Veisinia was State Library Victoria Creative Fellow for 2022.
