The Emerging Writers’ Festival work, learn and play largely on the land of the Kulin nation, and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.
EWF celebrates the history and creativity of the world’s oldest living culture.
Speaking more than one language doesn’t split the self, it expands it. Each linguistic stream travels a different course but ultimately pours into a single body. Eventually, a multifaceted, multilingual flood emerges from this merging, and sometimes we are lucky enough to witness it. Join EWF and the Australian Multilingual Writing Project at the Immigration Museum for a line-up of more languages than there are artists. In this fluid display of literature, writers will perform in Urdu, Hindi, French, Russian, Arabic, Mandarin, English and Spanish to promise an evening of waterworks.
