Emily Bitto is an award-winning writer of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. The manuscript of her debut novel, The Strays, was shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Unpublished Manuscript Award, and the published novel went on to win the 2015 Stella Prize. Her second novel, Wild Abandon, won the prestigious Margaret and Colin Roderick Award in 2022. Emily has a Masters in literary studies and a PhD in creative writing from the University of Melbourne and has been teaching for over a decade. She is currently a teacher in the Faber Writing Academy’s Writing a Novel course.
