what if we held hands in the queer archives
Archive as both site and verb: as an event that happens and continues to happen. The archive comes in many different structures and arrangements. A library, a word, a rock, a body of water.¹
Five writers traverse the Australian Queer Archives (AQuA) and interact with the queer histories collected and preserved there. Made in collaboration with and supported by AQuA. They cut up and collage; restore and trouble, re-emerging with new forms made from old materials – forms that archive the archive to then become a part of it, NEW AGONIES publication sitting on the AQuA shelves. Join us for an evening of performances at the Victorian Pride Centre to witness this self-referential relic.
